Louisville Young Catholics and Christ in the City is proud to be hosting the Seven Churches Pilgrimage again this year on Holy Thursday, April 18.
The Seven Churches pilgrimage is a tradition begun in Rome by St. Philip Neri, where pilgrims would travel by foot to the seven basilicas in Rome to pray and sing hymns. While we do not have seven basilicas in Louisville, we do have many churches that offer altars of repose on Holy Thursday, the traditional day for the pilgrimage.
At each station, you will have the opportunity to pray, contemplate, and read Holy Scriptures. You can use this time as you wish, but if you need some ideas, we will include suggested Bible verses and prayers for each station. Between stops, some pilgrims may also consider continuing to pray and traverse in silence.
Below you will find the pilgrim schedule. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Trevor Mahoney (trevor.mahoney@uwalumni.com). Don’t forget to RSVP on our Facebook page!
